Hanske na teer chalaanaa

Posted on: November 27, 2011

“Beqasoor” (1950) was a Madhukar Pictures presentation. K Amarnath was the director of this movie. Starcast of the movie included names like Ajit, Madhubala, Geeta Nizami, Durga Khote, Yakub, Gope, Pramila etc in it.

Here are the details of this movie as described by Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, our in house encyclopeadia on bscure movies of the past:-

BEQASOOR-1950,a Madhukar Picture film was directed by K.Amarnath, who also wrote its story. The s/play and dialogues as well as some lyrics were by Ehsan Rizvi. The producer was M.R.Navalkar.

Ghanashyam(Yakub) was a very nasty and malicious person who hated his younger brother because he was more educated. When his father dies,he throws his bother Brij(Ajit) and mother(Durga Khote) out ofnthe house to enjoy the shop, business and property, along with his equally nasty wife(Geeta Nizami).

Brij comes to Bombay. He gets a job as Police S.I. Once he meets Usha(Madhubala) who runs away from her brother to avoid forced prostitution. They marry. Brij is promoted as Inspector and posted in his town. He catches the Manager of Ghanashyam for Black marketing. Ghanashyam is very angry. He lays a trap and Brij is caught for taking bribe. Also Usha’s character is questioned.

Brij goes to jail. Usha, with the help of neighbours and friends turns the tables on Ghanashyam and he goes to jail, while brij comes out(as if there is only one bed available in jail).

I have discussed as many as three songs from this movie. This movie had 8 songs in it. Six songs were composed by Anil Biswas and the remaining two were Hanraj Bahl compositions.

Both Hansraj Bahl compositions from this movie were Rafi Lata duets. I have discussed one of them. Here is the other.

Like the other Rafi Lata duet, this song too is picturised as a stage song on Madhubala and a male dancer who is not yet identified. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify him. The picturisation also shows Ajit watching the performance while seated among the audience and he for some reasons seems displeased.

Ehsaan Rizvi is the lyricist of this song. This song is a nicely sung song which is nicely picturised too.

Lyrics

hans ke na teer chalaanaa
dil khud hi banegaa nishaanaa
tum itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa
tum itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa
hans ke na teer chalaanaa
dil khud hi banegaa nishaanaa
tum itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa
gori itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa

reh-reh ke yaad sataaye
reh-reh ke yaad sataaye
gore gaalon pe
o gore gaalon pe man lalchaaye
gore gaalon pe man lalchaaye
kuchh apni nishaani diye jaanaa
dil khud hi banegaa nishaanaa
tum itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa
gori itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa

jo dekhe wo hi lalchaaye
jo dekhe wo hi lalchaaye
koi kis-kis se aankh churaaye
koi kis-kis se aankh churaaye
jise dekho pukaare chali aanaa
dil khud hi banegaa nishaanaa
tum itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa
tum itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa

mar jaayenge ham ghabraa ke
mar jaayenge ham ghabraa ke
munh chhupaanaa naa
o munh chhupaanaa naa ghoonghat uthaa ke
munh chhupaanaa naa ghoonghat uthaa ke
gori hamse na tum sharmaanaa
dil khud hi banegaa nishaanaa
tum itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa
gori itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa

pachhtaaun main preet lagaake
pachhtaaun main preet lagaake
ghabraati hoon aankh milaate
ghabraati hoon aankh milaate
meraa bholaa saa man na dukhaanaa
dil khud hi banegaa nishaanaa
tum itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa
tum itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa
hans ke na teer chalaanaa
dil khud hi banegaa nishaanaa
tum itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa
tum itnaa na ham pe sitam dhaanaa
