Ham bhi kho gaye hain dil bhi kho gaya hai

“Madam Zorro” (1962) as the title suggests, is a quintessential B grade movie that was promptly consigned to the dustbin of obscurity. This movie was produced by A D Productions and it was directed by Akkoo. The cast of this movie had names like Nadira, Bhagwan, Azaad, Indira Bansal, Madhumati, Sheikh, Laali etc in it.
B grade movies with A grade music is almost a given, and the music of this movie is no exception.
Here is a wonderful duet from this movie which is sung by Mukesh and Kamal Barot. Shewan Rizvi is the lyricist and Bulo C Rani composed the music.
I have no inkling about the actors on whom this song is picturised. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.

Lyrics
ham bhi kho gaye hain
dil bhi kho gayaa hai
kehte hain pyaar jisko
shaayad wo ho gayaa hai
ham bhi kho gaye hain
dil bhi kho gayaa hai
kehte hain pyaar jisko
shaayad wo ho gayaa hai
ham bhi kho gaye hain
dil hamko dhoondhtaa hai
ham dil ko dhoondhte hain
manzil pe ham khade hain
manzil ko dhoondhte hain
aaa aaa
aaa aaa
aaa aaa
aaa aaa
dil hamko dhoondhtaa hai
ham dil ko dhoondhte hain
manzil pe ham khade hain
manzil ko dhoondhte hain
kehte hain pyaar jisko
shaayad wo ho gayaa hai
ham bhi kho gaye hain
dil bhi kho gayaa hai
kehte hain pyaar jisko
shaayad wo ho gayaa hai
ham bhi kho gaye hain
kyaa cheez hai mohabbat
samjhegaa kyaa zamaanaa
itni si hai kahaani
itnaa saa hai fasaanaa
aaa aaa aaa aaa
aaa aaa aaa aaa
kyaa cheez hai mohabbat
samjhegaa kyaa zamaanaa
itni si hai kahaani
itnaa saa hai fasaanaa
kehte hain pyaar jisko
shaayad wo ho gayaa hai
ham bhi kho gaye hain
dil bhi kho gayaa hai
kehte hain pyaar jisko
shaayad wo ho gayaa hai
ham bhi kho gaye hain

Atul ji,
MADAME ZORRO(1962) was an A.D. Production film(nothing to do with me,please),directed by AKKU,a khiladi in handling such movies !
If one takes a look at the cast itself, one can easily guess at the Title and the probable story of the movie.Azaad,Ramayan Tiwari,Bela Bose,Nadira,Bhagwan,Madhumati, just add Akku and Bulo C Rani to complete the recipe and to add masala(for sureshot whistles and clapping from the ‘respected’ audience) further add a Dog-Roma and a Horse-Mushtak and your A class C grade movie is ready !
Maharaja Jagajit Singh’s(Shaikh) forefathers had left 7 bottomless treasures for the welfare of the kingdom’s people, which prof.Shekhar(The Hon.Ramayan Tiwari),wants for himself. He creates a monsterlike creature,Faulad, with his science.Faulad kills maharaja, but the blame comes on Ajit(Azad),his son.He is jailed. He is freed by his fiance Maya(Nadira). Then he goes to his friend Jugnu Lohar(Bimala kumari) who breaks his shackles. Now she is jailed and Ajit frees her.
Meanwhile Prof.Shekhar is very busy in looting people and becomes a terror and a wanted man because of his Faulad.
A masked,Horse riding,Dog hiding mysterious woman-Madame Zorro appears from nowhere and establishes Law and Order in the Kingdom, and finally kills both Faulad and Prof.Tiwari-sorry,Prof.Shekhar,with the help of non-masked but bare bodied Ajit(Azad showing his muscles to one and all).
Needless to say,all is well that ends well !
Note: the roles of Dog Roma and horse Mushtak(what a name for a Horse in a film !) are equally done well. !!

Thanks a lot for this fun overview to this movie. It is nice to know that the Dog and the Horse acted well in this movie.

Arun ji,
Ditto to Atul ji’s comments 😀 😀
I am sure your summary will serve better than the original film.
However, what about the identity of the ‘masked,Horse riding,Dog hiding mysterious woman-Madame Zorro’. Is it safe to assume that it is Maya (Nadira).

Sudhir ji,
Yes.I now realise that I clean forgot to type the line “you guessed it right ! The masked Madame Zorro is Maya(Nadira)” after….’bare bodied ajit….’
Thanks.
