Ise na aur lootiye ye dil bahut gareeb hai

Posted on: October 4, 2011

“Gul Sanobar” (1953) is a Basant pictures production. It was directed by Aspi Irani. This movie had actors like Shammi Kapoor, Shyama, Kailash,Agha, Habeeb,Rajni, Shaapur, Jillo etc.

I have discussed one song from this movie in the past. Here is another song from this movie.

This song, which is a “dancing under duress” category of song, is sung by Lata and it is picturised on an actress whom I am unable to identify. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify her.
PS-She is none other than Shyama herself. I thank Banno for identifying Shyama and I share her concern at the maltreatment of Shyama in the picturisation.

Kaif Irfani is the lyricist. Music is composed by Bulo C Rani.

Song-Ise na aur lootiye ye dil bahut gareeb hai (Gul Sanobar) (1953) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Kaif Irfani, MD-Bulo C Rani

Lyrics

aaa aaa
o o o
o o o
o o o

ise na aur lootiye
ye dil bahut gareeb hai
naseeb se main kyaa kahoon
naseeb to naseeb hai
ise na aur lootiye
ye dil bahut gareeb hai
naseeb se main kyaa kahoon
naseeb to naseeb hai

agar meri isne zara
to rok lee(?) to ye kahoon
agar meri isne zara
to rok lee(?) to ye kahoon
khafaa rahe ??
jo maut ke kareeb ho
ise na aur lootiye
ye dil bahut gareeb hai
naseeb se main kyaa kahoon
naseeb to naseeb hai

jo dil mein rehke jal bujhe
wo daag e gham bhi kyaa kahe
jo dil mein rehke jal bujhe
wo daag e gham bhi kyaa kahe
jo khud kabhi na phal sakey
wo zakhm bhi ajeeb hai
ise na aur lootiye
ye dil bahut gareeb hai
naseeb se mai kyaa kahoon
naseeb to naseeb hai
ise na aur lootiye

Atul, the actress is Shyama herself. Poor woman, she is getting tortured here, isn’t she, with all the whiplashes, and wall masks spewing fire. Lovely song though.

Missing words :

agar meri ‘sunen’ zara
to rok ‘leejiye’ kahoon
agar meri ‘sunen’ zara
to rok ‘leejiye’ kahoon
‘sataa rahey ho kyun usey’
‘jo maut se kareeb hai’

Translation :

O my poor heart, please don’t rob it anymore
Destiny is destiny , how do I admonish it

If you care to listen, I will ask you to stop me, some how
why tease the one who is so close to death

oh agony, no words to utter, all burnt
has left ashes inside my heart
It is a strange pain, unable to heal itself
