Khabar kisi ko nahin wo kidhar ko dekhte hain

Posted on: May 30, 2010

Yesterday I stumbled upon a very old song. This song is a qawwaali and I was pleasantly surprised by it. This qawwali is from a movie called “Beqasoor” (1950).

Unlike qawwaalis of the later years where male and female singers would both sing, this is an all male qawwali. Here one can listen to the voices of Rafi, G M Durrani and Mukesh. It is the first time I heard the voice of Mukesh singing a qawwali and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by Mukesh’s ability to hold his own in this song.

The lyrics are superb. Aarzoo Lucknowi is the lyricist. Anil Biswas is the music director.

The song is picturised on several actors and I can only identify Ajit among them. Remaining actors are unknown to me. I request my knowledgeable readers to identify the other actors so that we may be able to enjoy this qawwali even better.

In any case, I believe that this qawwali must be regarded as one of the finest qawwalis in Bollywood movies. I consider myself fortunate that I managed to discover it. I am sure my readers will enjoy listening (and watching) this qawwali too.

Lyrics

aaa
khabar kisi ko nahin
wo kidhar ko dekhte hain
ye kaun jaane
ke dil yaa jigar ko dekhte hain
nazar bachaa ke ham
unki nazar ko dekhte hain
nazar bachaa ke ham
unki nazar ko dekhte hain
jo bekhabar hai
usi bekhabar ko dekhte hain
duaayen maang rahen
haay
duaayen maang rahen hain
asar ko dekhte hain
duaayen maang rahen hain
asar ko dekhte hain
duaayen maang rahen hain
asar ko dekhte hain
duaayen maang rahen hain
asar ko dekhte hain
duaayen maang rahen hain asar ko
aaa
duaayen maang rahen hain
asar ko dekhte hain
duaayen maang rahen haay
duaayen maang rahen haay
duaayen maang rahen hain
asar ko dekhte hain

ho ho ho
sunaa hai unko bhi
ham bekason se ulfat hai
koyi bataao ke
kaisi hamaari kismat hai
dhadak rahaa hai dil
apni ajeeb haalat hai
wo aaye ghar mein hamaare
khudaa ki kudrat hai
kabhi ham unko
ho o
kabhi ham unko
kabhi apne ghar ko dekhte hain
kabhi ham unko
kabhi apne ghar ko dekhte hain
kabhi ham unko
kabhi apne ghar ko dekhte hain
kabhi ham unko
kabhi apne ghar ko dekhte hain
kabhi ham unko
kabhi apne ghar ko
aaaaa aaaaa
haay
kabhi ham unko
kabhi apne ghar ko dekhte hain
kabhi ham unko
kabhi hoy
kabhi ham unko
kabhi

kabhi ham unko
kabhi apne ghar ko dekhte hain

aji ye ishq dekhiye
kyaa din dikhaane waalaa hai
zuroor koyi nayaa
gul khilaane waala hai
chaman se aur kahin
le ke jaane waalaa hai
chaman se aur kahin
haay

le ke jaane waalaa hai
chaman se aur kahin
le ke jaane waalaa hai
aaa
jawaab khat kaa mere
aaj aane waalaa hai
are bhai zaroor aayegaa
kabhi ghadi ko
kabhi ghadi ko
kabhi naamawar ko dekhte hain
kabhi ghadi ko
kabhi naamawar ko dekhte hain
kabhi ghadi ko
kabhi naamawar ko dekhte hain
haan
