Ae baandi tum begam bano

on:I have mentioned earlier that the original “Parineeta”, viz “Parineeta”(1953) had some lovely songs in it, though they have been forgotten by now.
Here is a very rare, and remarkable song from this movie. It is a comedy song sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle, two struggling singers who were trying to get footholds in the Bollywood music industry at that time. And how wonderfully them have sung this song ! This song is written by Bharat Vyas. Music is by Arun Kumar Mukherji.
I have no idea who are the actors on which this song is picturised. The humour in the picturisation appears regional humour and dated, and may not sound as funny at present, but there is no doubt that this song is very special. It is a very rare song indeed, and we are fortunate that we are in a position to not just listn to this song, but even watch the picturisation. The uploader of this video deserves our heartfelt thanks.
Song-Ae baandi tum begam bano (Parineeta) (1953) Singers-Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Bharat Vyas, MD- Arun Kumar Mukherji
Lyrics
Apla
huzoor
he
ae baandi tum begam bano
khwaab dekha hai
ki achha khwaab dekha hai
ki ham baadshah bane hain
ae baandi tum begam bano
khwaab dekha hai
ki achha khwaab dekha hai
ki ham baadshah bane hain
baadshah bane ho ji
tumhe jara na aayi laaj
baadshah bane ho ji
tumhe jara na aayi laaj
baap ne mari mendhaki
aur beta teerandaz
achha to ab paas aao
pahle apni naak kataao
naakte bano tum
haan haan naakte bano tum
are re re re re
kya kahegi duniya
o meri naak jo huyi gum
o meri naak jo huyi gum
aao ji aao ji hamse karo mel
aao ji aao ji hamse karo mel
arre jaa
chhachhoondar ke sar me chameli ka tel
chhachhoondar ke sar me chameli ka tel
haan
chhachhoondar bana diya mujhe
o begam
ye kya kiya
utha tha sher ye Babbar
toone usse sula diyaa
haay begam ye kyaa kiyaa
hahahahaha
hahahahaha ha
arre uth
nahi too naak kataaoge
nahi too nakte banoge
hamen begam banaaoge
aur khud baadshah banoge
haan meri jaan
haan meri jaan
baadshah banoongaa
tujhe baadshah banaaun
oonche takth pe bithaaun
zara dil me tu rakhna sabar
o baadshaad dil me tu rakhna sabar
tujhe baadshah banaaun
oonche takth pe bithaaun
zara dil me tu rakhna sabar
o baadshaah dil me tu rakhna sabar
tujhe takht bhi bhale
o ji taaj bhi bhale
main banaa doongi teri kabar
haan
o baadshaad dil me tu rakhna sabar
o baadshaad dil me tu rakhna sabar

The female dancer is Roshan Kumari, the exponent of Kathak dance of Jaipur gharana. She is the daughter of playback singer Zohrabai Ambalewali.
The video clip of a song from Satyajit Ray’s film ‘Jalasagar’ (1958) shows her proficiency in Kathak dance :
