This is a nice timepass song from 1981. The movie is called “Daulat” and this song is a duet sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle and is picturised on Vinod Khanna and Zeenat Aman.

Well, it is a car song as well, seeing that the song begins with Zeenat Aman unable to start her car because Vinod Khanna, not in the car, is triumphantly brandishing the car key from a distance. How naive can Zeenat Aman be ? Why should she have left her key in the car itself. And even if she had left the key in the car and had a spare key with herself, could not she lock the door ? But that would not have served any purpose, seeing that it was a convertible car that she was driving ? Well, these Bollywood actresses are as dumb as those western blondes we keep hearing about.

Well, the song goes along predictable lines. For the first two stanzas, it is Vinod Khanna making passes and Zeenat Aman taking exceptions, but by thetime the third stanza begins, Zeenat Aman has begun to respond favoirably and in fact she has joined in singing the song thus making it a duet song.

So far so good. But I notice that the dresses tof the duo suddenly undergoes a change in the last stanza of the song. What exactly was going on. I have not seen the movie, but I suppose I should not be surprised if Zeenat Aman’s car too undergoes a similar transformation during the course of the song. Such things are known to happen in Bollywood movies.
