“Saahib Bibi Aur Ghulam” (1962) is a landmark movie in the history of Bollywood movies. The story, the plot, the acting- all these were top class. Public as well as critics appreciated this movie.

There are several movies called Dillagi, but the earliest movie of this name that I am awre of is “Dillagi” (1949). This movie had Shyam,Suraiyya, Amar, Sharda, Amir Bano etc in it.

I have posted several songs from “Mughal e Azam” (1960) and many more need to be posted. Just about every song of this movie was a classic that is a feast for the ears and eyes even to this date.

I have posted a few songs from ‘Baabul” (1950) already. Al these songs were (and still are) very popular. But one of the most popular (and as yet unposted) song from this movie is the iconic song “chhod baabul ka ghar mohe pi ke nagar aaj jaana padaa”.

When one talks of “Dard” (1947), one is mostly reminded on the immortal song “Afsaana likh rahi hoon dile bekaraar ka” which took the natio by storm. It was sung by Umadevi (later known as Tuntun) and picturised on Munawar Sultana.

I have mentioned it many a times and I need to mention it again, that many of the well known iconic songs of Bollywood, whatever be their topics, are the creations of Ravi, though many people may not be aware of this fact.
