“Sanam” (1951) was a movie that had Dev Anand, Suraiyya, Meena Kumari,K N Singh and Gope in main roles. It is interesting to note that this movie was the last movie of Dev Anand and Suraiyya together.

Many people may only be aware of the new “Parineeta”, but in reality, the original and real “Parineeta” is the movie that was based on Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s story and it was picturised in 1953. It was made in Bangla, Hindi, and may be in other languages too.

There are many songs from the past which despite their obvius class did not become very popular. one can say that such songs were not quite meant for the masses. And those who appreciated such compositions were in a very small minority.

Just how many nice songs did a typical Bollywood movie use to have in olden days ? I have already posted three songs from “Dil Apna Aur Preet Paraayi” (1960) and it turns out that a few great songs from this movie are still left to be covered.

When you need to look for iconic songs on any topic, you should look for songs composed by Ravi. I have noticed that majority of iconic Bollywood songs, whatever be their topics, have been composed by Ravi.
