While listening to bollywood songs, it is interesting to observe that many characters who speak in simple laguage while talking burst into a song containing flowery high sounding language. After the song is over and normality is restored, they resume their talk in plain language.

I had once mentioned that the version of song seen in the movie and heard in the records was often different because they were recorded on two separate occassions. Imagine a great song being recorded not once but twice ! Once for the movie sound track, and once for the record company.

I had heard this song many a times as a kid in late 1960s. I had no inkling which movie this song was from but that did not prevent me from liking this song. From the voice I could make out that this song was sung by Lata. Yes, I could make out the difference [...]

“Mere Huzoor” (1968) was a nice movie on its genre ( Muslim social theme) and it had some wonderful music. I have already posted a few songs from this movie. And more songs from this movie deserve to be posted.

There have been many movies called “aankhen” beginning from the 1950 movie of this name, to one in 1968, and then two more, one in 1990s and another in 2000s.
