When one thinks of Shammi Kapoor, one invariably thinks of Rafi, Hasrat Jaipuri and Shankar Jaikishan. There are many people who in fact may well think that they were together with Shammi Kapoor right from the beginning of Shammi Kapoor phenomenon.

“Dhool Ka Phool” (1959) is a movie that has some very nice songs in it. I have posted a few songs and more songs from this movie are need to be posted here.

“Chhalia” (1959) had many songs which were sung by Lata (for Nutan) and Mukesh (for Raj Kapoor). But the final song of this movie was sung by Rafi and it was picturised on Raj Kapoor.

“Bedard Zamaana kyaa jaane”(1959) is one of the first movies in which Kalyanji gave music solo. Subsequently he was joined by his younger brother Anandji to form the well known music director duo of Kalyanji Anandji.

In the beginning of his career, Kalyanji had initially given music alone, before forming a partnership with his younger sibling, viz Anandji. “Bedard Zamaana Kyaa Jaane” (1959) is one such movie where Kalyanji gave mosic solo under the name Kalyanji Veerji Shah.

“Jaalsaaz” (1959) is a forgotten movie by now. But its songs were quite nice to listen to. If these songs are not known to many then it is the loss of the listeners.

“Pyaar ki raahein” (1959) is an obscure movie by now and its music is just as obscure. But as far as the music is concerned, it deserved much better fate.
