atul's bollywood song a day- with full lyrics

Mere bichchde saathi suntaa jaa

Posted by: squarecutatul on: June 2, 2009

If a movie has Madan Mohan’s music, then two things were almost guaranteed. One, the movie would fare poorly at the box office, and second, the movie would have some memorable songs, including some unforgettable songs sung by Lata.

“Chirag”(1969) was a movie that fitted the above description. This movie was a musical blockbuster that failed to save the movie. But the songs are just fabulous.

Here is the poignant “mere bichchde saathi sunta jaa” from this movie. It is sung by Lata and picturisation shows Asha Parekh, who is separated from Sunil Dutt singing this song. Majrooh Sultanpuri was the lyricist.

Song-Mere bichchde saathi sunta jaa (Chirag 1969) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Majrooh Sultanpuri, MD-Madan Mohan

Lyrics

mere bichchde saathi sunta jaa
mere geet hain tere liye
mere bichchde saathi sunta jaa
mere geet hain tere liye
mere bichchde saathi sunta jaa

kal jo lagi thi tere gale se
aaj wo birhan path me padi hai
paaon ke neeche jalti hai dharti
sar pe birah ki dhoop khadi hai
mere bichchde saathi sunta jaa
mere geet hain tere liye
mere bichchde saathi sunta jaa

pyaar sahaara thaa jeewan ka
pyaar hi mujhko raas naa aaya
ab hai bhatakna galiyon galiyon
saath liye apni hi chaaya
mere bichchde saathi suntaa jaa
mere geet hain tere liye
mere bichchde saathi sunta jaa
